The journey towards excellence undertaken by FILPUCCI GROUP is advancing very rapidly for a responsible innovation that will be presented during the 84th edition of Pitti Filati (23/25 January 2019), with the “Responsible Innovation Collection”.
The mix of the best raw materials (high-tech and natural), the know-how of FILPUCCI in the spinning process and the integration of responsible innovation values both in the dyeing and in the finishing processes, have given life to a collection that represents a new level of smart innovation linked to a transparent, sustainable and certified production.
Responsible innovation means creating a strategy focused on creativity, innovation and sustainability that involves each stage of the production process, whilst respecting the values of Filpucci’s DNA.
Simultaneously is offered to clients the opportunity to access a new aesthetic marked with a strong fashion-forward orientation in which high quality blends with smart uniqueness.
The creation of the bases for new knitwear solutions – involving sustainable yarns – driven by new generation’s values has been laid and the company’s commitment has been recognized internationally.
The commitment of the firm is also recognized by premium brands and the launch of the Whistles capsule collection (December 6th, 2018), completely made with Re.VerSo™ by Filpucci cashmere in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S.- a platform for integrating responsible innovation into products and fashion businesses – represents the evidence.
Filpucci’s commitment towards responsible innovation respresents an integral part of their business strategy and here are some key elements to prove it:
- Higg Index membership, the Higg Index is a suite of tools that enables brands, retailers, and facilities to accurately measure and score a company or product’s sustainability performance. The Higg Index delivers a holistic overview that empowers businesses to make meaningful improvements that protect the well-being of factory workers, local communities, and the environment.
- The FILPUCCI GROUP produces its own ‘Balance of Sustainability’ report each year to measure and account for issues relating to the business impact of a responsible innovation strategy, and research optimization into origins of materials, transparency, certifications and processes designed to reduce environmental impacts and a no-waste manufacturing philosophy.
- The signing of a new ‘Values Chart’ in conjunction with a joint consortium to guarantee sustainable production chains that are fully traceable with certified materials and measured environmental performances, such as reducing CO2, water use and power consumption.
- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard) certifications obtained by the Filpucci dyeing plant alongside they can boast recycling 70% of water used
- Detox commitment, which was signed in February, 2016.
The collection of this season is composed of 36 yarn styles, among which some are new developments and some are already established products.
The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified ENKA viscose is a key ingredient of the SS 2020 collection, being blended in more than the 50% of the articles. A brand new life to yarns characterized by volume and lightness. The viscous one with guarantee FSC attests that the cellulose originates from forests responsibly managed. FSC it is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.
The collection presents also GOTS certified organic cotton and linen. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most important standard for sustainable production of garments and natural fibre textile products from organic farming. GOTS certification applies to textile products, textile chemicals used, and all manufacturing activities. GOTS criteria measures environmental, technical quality, toxicity and social impacts. GOTS is backed by independent certification for the entire supply chain.
Within the premium ingredients of this collection Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei (cupro fibre) stands out, a matchless and original, new generation material made from the smart-tech transformation of a cotton linter, a bio-utility waste, converted through a traceable and transparent process being a model of the modern circular economy that boasts top level certifications at each level of the supply chain.
And lastly the GRS certification (Global Recycled Standard) for transformed fibres that provides evidence and criteria to cover the composition of the recycled product respecting social criteria and workers’ rights.
It is clear that Filpucci has an eye-toward traceable and transparent manufacturing process, as shown by the Re.VerSoTM circular economy supply chain, of which the Filpucci group is a unique ambassador in the field of high-end/low-impact knitwear yarns.
FILPUCCI GROUP considers its “sustainable approach” a real mission and this brought to the creation of new solutions in the field of textile fashion. Below some collections in which Filpucci’s creations have been inserted.
